Dry Eye Rescue and ScienceBased Health have mutually agreed to end their distribution relationship, including HydroEye® and all other ScienceBased Health products. The decision was mutual and reflects a difference in business direction, not product quality or safety.
ScienceBased Health is well regarded for its nutritional formulations, and many doctors and patients value products such as HydroEye®, MacularProtect®, and OmegaAdvance®. This decision is not a reflection on those products.
In our view, the two companies are simply pursuing different directions. ScienceBased Health's core formulations have been established in the market for roughly two decades, reflecting a long-standing approach to ophthalmic nutrition. Dry Eye Rescue is focused on a smaller, curated set of newer formulations, and on a doctor-first distribution model built around eye care providers rather than direct-to-consumer marketing. Both approaches have merit; ours is moving elsewhere.
As part of our ongoing process, Dry Eye Rescue continues to retire less popular items in each category based on recommendations from our network of more than 5,000 doctors nationwide. This keeps each category focused and prevents it from being overcrowded with too many similar options.
