What it is
OptiLight delivers calibrated, sculpted pulses of light to the malar and periocular skin using Lumenis optimal pulse technology. It is an in-office treatment, typically given as a short series of sessions, and is often paired with same-visit meibomian gland expression.
How it works
IPL is thought to act on several drivers of meibomian gland dysfunction at once. It can reduce inflammatory mediators around the lids, close the abnormal telangiectatic vessels that feed periocular inflammation, and gently warm the glands, with the aim of improving meibum quality and gland function.
