Indications and Usage
For prepping of the periocular region (lids, brow, and cheek) and irrigation of the ocular surface (cornea, conjunctiva, and palpebral fornices).
Dosage and Administration
Apply to the lashes and lid margins with a saturated cotton-tipped applicator, prep the lids, brow, and cheek with sterile sponges, then irrigate the cornea, conjunctiva, and fornices; allow a two-minute contact time before flushing the residual solution from the treated area with sterile saline.
Warnings and Precautions
- For external use only; not for intraocular injection or irrigation
- Use with caution in patients with thyroid disorders due to potential iodine absorption
- Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established
- Discontinue use if signs of local sensitivity or irritation appear
Contraindications
Do not use in individuals known to be sensitive to iodine or to other components of this product.
Adverse Reactions
Local sensitivity reactions to povidone-iodine ophthalmic solution have been reported in some individuals.
Storage and Handling
Store at 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F).
