Indications and Usage
Treatment of postoperative inflammation and reduction of ocular pain in patients who have undergone cataract surgery.
Dosage and Administration
Instill one drop into the affected eye(s) once daily beginning one day before cataract surgery, continued on the day of surgery and through the first 14 days postoperatively. Separate from other topical ophthalmic drugs by at least 5 minutes.
Warnings and Precautions
- Potential for delayed corneal healing
- Increased risk of ocular bleeding with surgery
- Possible cross-sensitivity to other NSAIDs, sulfonamides, or sulfites
- Risk of keratitis and corneal epithelial breakdown, erosion, or perforation with prolonged use; do not wear contact lenses during treatment
Contraindications
None.
Adverse Reactions
The most common reactions (2-7%) are abnormal ocular sensation, conjunctival hyperemia, and eye irritation including burning or stinging; corneal erosion and perforation have been reported rarely.
Storage and Handling
Store at 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F).
