Product Description:

Eagle Vision’s dissolvable collagen punctal inserts offer a safe, temporary, and cost-effective way to determine whether a patient may benefit from long-term or permanent punctal occlusion. These sterile, single-use collagen plugs are designed to improve tear retention by partially blocking tear drainage through the puncta.

Once inserted, the plugs typically provide occlusion for 3 to 5 days and fully dissolve within 7 to 10 days. This makes them an ideal diagnostic tool to assess the effectiveness of punctal occlusion in treating patients with aqueous-deficient dry eye or those who experience symptoms of tear film instability.

Recommended Use:

• Gently insert the appropriate size collagen plug into the lower punctum of each eye using standard punctal plug forceps.

• Monitor the patient’s symptoms over the following days to evaluate improvement in ocular comfort, tear film stability, and dry eye signs.

• If the patient experiences relief during the period the plug is active, they may be a strong candidate for a longer-lasting or permanent occlusion solution (e.g., silicone plugs or cauterization).
