Indications and Usage

Treatment of ocular bacterial infections such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, keratoconjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, blepharitis, and blepharoconjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.

Dosage and Administration

Instill one or two drops into the affected eye(s) every four hours. In severe infections, dosage may be increased to as much as two drops once every hour.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Not for injection into the eye
  • Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, including fungi
  • Discontinue if sensitivity or hypersensitivity develops
  • Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or any surface to avoid contamination

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to gentamicin or any component of the preparation.

Adverse Reactions

The most common adverse reactions are transient ocular burning and irritation; conjunctival hyperemia and allergic reactions occur less frequently.

Storage and Handling

Store at controlled room temperature 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F); protect from light and heat.
