Systane Gel Drops Lubricant Eye Gel (10mL Bottle)

About the Product

Systane Gel Drops is a sterile ocular lubricant in a gel formulation, supplied in a 10 mL (1/3 fl oz) dropper bottle. It has two active ingredients, polyethylene glycol 400 0.4% and propylene glycol 0.3%, both eye lubricants. This is the preserved presentation, preserved with POLYQUAD (polyquaternium-1) 0.001%, and the formula also contains hydroxypropyl guar and edetate disodium.

Gel Drops is the gel format within the over the counter ocular lubricant category: a thicker formulation than a standard artificial tear, but still dispensed as a drop from a bottle rather than squeezed from an ointment tube. One or two drops go into the affected eye as needed, and contact lenses are removed before use.

Uses

• for the temporary relief of burning and irritation due to dryness of the eye
• for use as a protectant against further irritation or to relieve dryness of the eye

Active Ingredients

• Polyethylene Glycol 400, 0.4% An eye lubricant, and one of the two actives that give the solution its lubricating body.
• Propylene Glycol, 0.3% An eye lubricant, and a humectant that holds water in the formula.

Inactive Ingredients

Aminomethylpropanol, boric acid, edetate disodium, hydroxypropyl guar, POLYQUAD (polyquaternium-1) 0.001% preservative, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, sorbitol and purified water. May contain hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide to adjust pH.

How to Use

1. Shake well before using.
2. Put 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed.

Remove contact lenses before use. Replace the cap after each use.

Warnings

For external use only

Do not use

• if this product changes color or becomes cloudy
• if you are sensitive to any ingredient in this product

When using this product

• do not touch tip of container to any surface to avoid contamination
• replace cap after each use

Stop use and ask a doctor if you experience any of the following

• eye pain
• changes in vision
• continued redness or irritation of the eye
• condition worsens or persists for more than 72 hours

Keep out of reach of children

If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
