Indications and Usage
A topical ophthalmic anesthetic indicated for procedures requiring a rapid-acting and short-duration anesthetic of the ocular surface.
Dosage and Administration
Instill one drop topically in the eye(s) as needed. Administered by a healthcare provider.
Warnings and Precautions
- For topical ophthalmic use only; not for intracameral use or injection
- Prolonged use may cause corneal toxicity and permanent corneal damage
- Advise patients not to touch or rub the eye until anesthesia wears off (about 10 to 20 minutes)
- Do not use if crystals, cloudiness, or discoloration are present
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation.
Adverse Reactions
Transient stinging, burning, and conjunctival redness, along with eye irritation, eye pain, and ocular discomfort.
Storage and Handling
Store at 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). Protect from light.
