The Eye Doctor Essential is a reusable microwavable compress that covers both closed eyes and is held in place by an adjustable head strap. It is filled with BodyBeads self hydrating technology, and the fabric is treated with Polygiene Stay-Fresh Technology. The pack contains the compress, two eyelid wipes and an instruction booklet covering the eyelid massage technique. The compress lasts a minimum of 200 uses.

This is a warm compress used as part of a daily eyelid hygiene routine. It is heated in a microwave and rested over the closed eyelids for 7 to 10 minutes, followed by a short eyelid massage and a wipe. The same compress can be frozen instead of heated and used cold.

Specifications

How to Use

1. Heat in a microwave only, for no longer than the time given for your microwave wattage. Be careful when removing from the microwave and do not overheat.
2. Check the temperature by touching the inside of your wrist with the mask before applying it to closed eyes. If it is too hot, wait 1 to 2 minutes for it to cool.
3. Tie the strap around your head and adjust for your personal comfort.
4. Sit back and relax for 7 to 10 minutes.
5. After the heat has expelled secretions from your eye glands, massage it away from the inner corner of your eyes, always using the tip of your index or middle finger. Massage 3 to 4 times along each eyelid, stroking downward from the brow along the lashes on the upper lid and upward toward the lashes on the lower lid.
6. Wipe away secretions with the supplied wipes or a clean tissue.

Most patients should benefit from applying the compress and performing eyelid massage twice a day for two weeks. This can be reduced to once a day and then a couple of times a week as required.

For cold use, place the compress in a plastic bag and freeze for at least 2 hours. Allow it to reach room temperature before reheating.

Care and Cleaning

Never wash your Eye Doctor Essential compress. Wipe clean only with a damp cloth, do not use detergents. If it accidentally gets wet, allow it to air dry before use.

Inspect The Eye Doctor at regular intervals and discard if found to be worn, damaged or if it has been repeatedly overheated. The compress lasts a minimum of 200 uses and should be disposed of through normal household waste.
