About the Product

Boston Rewetting Drops is a sterile, aqueous, buffered, slightly hypertonic solution supplied in a 0.33 FL OZ (10 mL) dropper bottle. It contains hydroxyethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol and a cationic cellulose derivative polymer, and is preserved with chlorhexidine gluconate (0.006%) and edetate disodium (0.05%).

This is the in eye rewetting step of a rigid gas permeable lens routine, and it is the one Boston product indicated for use directly in the eye: it lubricates and rewets fluoro silicone acrylate and silicone acrylate rigid gas permeable contact lenses while they are being worn. It is used while contact lenses are on the eyes, 1 to 3 drops into each eye as needed, at any point during the wearing day. Rewetting drops do not disinfect lenses and do not replace a conditioning or multi-action solution.

  • Hydroxyethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol and a cationic cellulose derivative polymer The polymers in this buffered, slightly hypertonic solution.
  • Chlorhexidine gluconate, 0.006% A preservative in the formula.
  • Edetate disodium, 0.05% Listed on the formula as part of the preservative system.

A sterile, aqueous, buffered, slightly hypertonic solution containing hydroxyethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, and a cationic cellulose derivative polymer; preserved with chlorhexidine gluconate (0.006%) and edetate disodium (0.05%).

How to Use

  1. Use while contact lenses are on the eyes.
  2. Instill 1 to 3 drops into each eye as needed or as directed by your eye care practitioner.
  3. Discard solution within 90 days after opening. Record date opened in space provided on bottle label.

Warnings

To avoid contamination of your solution or your lenses:

  • Never touch dropper tip of the container with your hands or to any surface.
  • Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use.

Contact lenses and solutions, if not handled properly, can become contaminated by common bacteria known to cause ocular infections. Serious damage to the eye and loss of vision may result from using contaminated solutions or from wearing contaminated or damaged contact lenses.

Eye problems, including corneal ulcers can develop rapidly and lead to loss of vision.

Storage

Store solution at room temperature. Avoid freezing.
